Fall and the season of harvesting are not just evidenced in nature. Harvesting, gathering and reaping are very much rooted in the spiritual realm as well.
September and October have been transforming months for our church. The Lord has been using multiple vessels to teach the importance of unity, prayer, dedication and surrender to the flow of the Spirit.
These powerhouse months have followed a challenging year of many transitions for our body. Not all of these transitions have been easy. The loss of Pastor Eddie put our faith to the test. This event alone challenged us to rise up in the midst of grief, loss and questioning and cleave to the foundation of what is at our very core. Our devotion to Christ, his commission and his plan, which are far greater than what our limited, temporal minds can fathom.
Much like the work of the cross, what the enemy intended for evil and destruction has turned into something that has resurrected things that had been dormant.
We’ve come together to support our First Lady, banding together along side of her in our determination to see the promises of God fulfilled in our church. Rather than focusing inward, we’ve pooled our resources, talents and gifts (natural and spiritual) to come together in unity so that we can be a catalyst for the Sprit of the Lord to flow in the ways that he has promised he would do.
The Lord has spoken that we have sown in tears and now we will reap in joy. We’ve spent the past year mourning and pushing to find the things within ourselves that Pastor Eddie always saw. This is the joy and the hope of what is to come. A unified body functioning as one. Man stepping out of the way so that the Spirit of the Lord is free to flow and move as he wills.
We were persistent. We didn’t stop in the desert but we pushed past that barrenness to now stand at the headwaters of revival. Because we were parched, we pressed until we began to feel the reviving presence of the Lord fall in our services.
This is where we apply from the natural season of harvest to what we are experiencing spiritually at Christian Fellowship Church. We are sowing seeds of prayer, commitment, dedication, selflessness, and servitude, with the expectation of a harvest of souls unlike any we’ve experienced in the past.
We are sowing in sacrifice with the expectation of reaping the miraculous. We’re no longer satisfied with where we were yesterday. We are looking forward to tomorrow. As the world grows darker, it’s just an opportunity for our light to shine brighter so that we can become a beacon, pointing the lost to Christ and bringing hope to the hopeless.
We invite you to be a part of this new movement of the Spirit we are experiencing. If you are close, please join us. If you’re watching remotely, link up with us in prayer and continue to watch our feed online as there’s no distance in the Spirit.
We are looking forward to this new season! We’re expecting a harvest of souls for the kingdom and we’re committed to the commission that has been set before us.
